Catalyst Efficiency
A vehicles Catalytic Converter is one of the most important devices on it. It is
used to control harmful exhaust emmissions. A catalytic converter can only do it's
job if it's got the proper exhaust gasses going in it. This means that your engine
must be in a healthy condition and in a good state of Tune and Fuel Control.
Once it has been determined that the engine is running properly you can test to
see if the catalyst is working correctly. Yes they can be ruined by a poor running
engine. One way that can be used to determine if it is functional would be to use
Escan's Catalyst Efficiency test. Below is the results from a properly functioning
catalyst.
